POSITION: Manager, Exhibit & Sponsorship Sales
COMPANY: Meeting Expectations

POSITION OVERVIEW AND GOALS:
Technology client is in need of an Exhibit and Sponsorship Sales Manager. This position will report to the Vice President of Meetings. It is a high level position; candidate should have 5-7 years in the exhibit/tradeshow industry. Candidate must be polished, professional and have experience in sales.

Please note this is not a meeting or event planner position.

Exhibitor and Sponsorship Management:

  • Manage the selling of exhibit space and sponsorships
  • Develop lists of new prospects and maintain relationship with exhibitors/sponsors
  • Communicate to exhibitors the event rules, regulations, best practices, etc. via monthly exhibitor newsletter and ongoing inquiries
  • Facilitate and participate in team meetings/conference calls

Marketing and Sales Management:

  • Partner with internal partner/alliance team managers to deliver the appropriate messages and information to current and potential exhibitors/sponsors via e-blast, Web and print marketing
  • Develop marketing plan and timeline to include telemarketing, print and electronic media
  • Develop content for the exhibitor/sponsor prospectus, including creating creative sponsorships and pricing out potential revenue
  • Solicit sales for exhibit and sponsorship opportunities

Logistics Management:

  • Participate and contribute in venue site visits
  • Organize and maintain conference binders, including compiling historical and exhibit prospect data as requested
  • Coordinate booth assignments
  • Assist client in developing point system for use in booth selection
  • Collect and manage the receipt of deliverables from exhibitors and sponsors
  • Respond to general questions from participating partners

Reporting and Accounting Management:

  • Review and reconcile exhibit/sponsors invoices; tracking and collecting accounts receivable
  • Responsible and accountable for monthly revenue/expense forecast
  • Prepare and reconcile weekly sales report for exhibit sales, sponsorships, lead retrieval and venue square footage
  • Participate in weekly client calls

Educational Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications as well as Internet Explorer.
  • Knowledge of a2z, Inc. or Expocad a plus.
  • Experience working with tradeshow decorators (GES, Freeman, etc.) and
  • Experience in a technology and/or Fortune 500 industry helpful (Oracle, SAP, HP, IBM, etc.).
  • Effective negotiation skills and some accounting/financial experience a plus.
  • Proven success in marketing and sales with special emphasis on results tracking and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills, with the ability to successfully coordinate several events and projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 5-7 years of tradeshow industry experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Outstanding communication skills, writing, editing, proofing and superior customer service skills.
  • A professional demeanor to interact with exhibitors and senior level executives.
  • Ability to travel and desire to stay abreast of current trends maintaining knowledge of the industry served.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to design creative booths, floor plans, sponsorships, traffic builders, etc.
  • Availability to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Being a good team player is a must with a willingness to help others and take on new challenges.

POSITION: Senior Association Manager

POSTION DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Association Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the policy and programs associated with the affiliate community, while ensuring overall organizational goals and objectives are met.

POSITION SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise team that serves as the main point of contact for all affiliated communities, providing a full-service resource for affiliation support services, programs, projects and other initiatives of the organization.
  • Develop and implement new policies, programs, benefits and services to support the affiliate community.
  • Promote representation of the OAUG brand by affiliates and assist with promoting membership at affiliate communities.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Integration, Geo/SIG and Transition Committees.
  • Serve as main point of contact and liaison to staff, Board, Committees and Oracle on behalf of the affiliate community.
  • Advocate needs of the affiliates to OAUG and Oracle.
  • Communicate direction and requirements of the OAUG to the affiliates.
  • Ensure adherence to affiliation requirements.
  • Create coaching plans, orientation programs, leadership development opportunities and resources for affiliate leaders.
  • Facilitate integration of new user communities into the OAUG family, including preparation of PowerPoint presentations, scheduling and conducting informational Webcasts and conference calls.
  • Manage participation of affiliate communities at various conferences.
  • Facilitate affiliate community representation and participation in OAUG committees, councils and initiatives.
  • Participate in facilitation of monthly committee and Transition Team conference calls and meetings.
  • Prepare annual budgets; monitor and approve expenditures for the assigned committees and Transition Team as well as funding grants.
  • Other projects and duties as required by the client or company.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Self-directed, flexible and a team player.
  • Strong communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact well with clients, volunteers and user group members at all levels.
  • Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically and use independent judgment to manage multiple priorities while meeting short and long-term deadlines.
  • Demonstrate constant attention to schedules, deadlines and details with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Positive attitude with strong customer service, organization, follow-up and time management skills.
  • Proven supervisory skills and experience.
  • Experience developing and implementing policies and programs.
  • Excellent computer and database management skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree, along with association management industry experience in the area of chapter relations, is desirable.
  • Some travel is required.

COMPENSATION:
Compensation will be based on experience and competitive with industry standards.
